Homestead update #1

For most of you, you've been following our moving ordeals since moving here to NC. We've been here almost a year, and we've already moved into our fourth house.
House #1 had mold.
House #2 the pump dried up, and two wells dug came up dry.
House #3 once again had mold, and we're were getting very sick.
And now... we're in a lovely little home out here on the "prairie".

We call it our "little house on the prairie". It is little, but not too little. Just the perfect size for us. We have three acres and are surround by soybean and tobacco fields. It's a lovely little place with so much potential.

Today we're outside enjoying the lovely fall weather. We can see them harvesting tobacco in a field nearby, and hear them harvesting soybeans not too far away. Our little fall garden is coming up and looking lovely so far. We've planted squash, green beans, swiss chard, mustard greens, okra, peas and cucumbers. Once it cools off a little, we'll plant some radishes, lettuce, onions and such. It's all an experiment, so we'll see how it turns out. We're talking about chickens sometime in the future... I would love to have some bees... Victor would like some sheep to use as lawn mowers:)... we'll see. For now, we're just enjoying the peaceful country life and dreaming of all the possibilities. We're so thankful the Lord has provided this place for us, and we're hoping to be able to stay here for quite a while.

Hello and welcome to our homestead!!!

This is where you can keep up with us and what's going on here at the Maxson homestead. We live in North Carolina on a little three acre piece of land, surrounded by farmers fields. We love it here and are trying to be as self sufficient as time and means allow. We're so glad you stopped by and hope you'll visit often. We hope and pray that you'll be blessed by visiting us here.
